During the year 2023, 871 boys and girls benefited from the goat pass-on schemes most of them share the same journey in their lives as outlined in Brandon Hove’s story “My name is Brandon Christian Hove. I am 13 years old and stay in Magara Village, Magamba Ward in Mberengwa District.
I stay with my grandparents, because my parents passed away when I was still a baby and my grandparents are now old and out of employment. It is against this background that Bethany volunteers selected me to benefit from the goat pass-on scheme since I was an orphan who struggled to raise school fees.
I received a goat donation from Bethany Project in 2018.By then I was in Grade 4 at Mawani Primary School. By 2020 my goats had increased to 3, in the same year my grandmother failed to raise my school levies and sold one goat for 35 USD and paid the outstanding school fees, bought a uniform, a jersey and stationery I was very happy about this contribution to my life from the goat donation.
Now my goats have increased to 5 and I feel secure since I know that I have something to fall back on in case of challenges. I am now in Form 1 at Chegute Primary School and whenever my grandparents fail to raise my school fees I will always sell some of the goats. I would like to thank Bethany Project in partnership with OAK Foundation for the donation.”
